2006 Mark I Pinot Noir

$0.00

Wine Description

An estate vineyard and barrel selection, this is a full-bodied, aromatic wine with the ability to cellar. Named for our son Mark, the Roman numeral denotes this vintage’s place in the series.

Big brooding nose of dark, damp, freshly-turned earth. A big plum, juicy entry is followed by waves of dark cherries, Damson plums, chocolate, wet soil loaded with minerals, and toasted vanilla bean. Harmoniously rounded and elegant at its core, yet showing lovely, fine-grained tannins.

Deep, earthy, forest floor aromas and flavors with some rich black cherry, pepper, herbs and earthy notes. Moderate tannin with good balance and a long finish. Complex, well-structured Pinot, especially good with a steak.

“…The velvety soft palate is beautiful with layered flavors of red cherry fruit and spice.”
